Amy and Chris had the perfect venue for their big day! They decided on having an engagement session and two photographers on the day – This gave them more variety and ultimately more images to remember their special day by.

The day started at the hotel just around the corner from Knebworth Barns where both Amy and Chris were getting ready, at different parts of the hotel. The man with me on this day was Rob of Rob Mank Photography and we were off to capture details and preparations before the short trip down the road to where their ceremony was to take place.

The ceremony room was grand, tall ceilings and all decked out with pink sashes around the crisp white chair covers – Chris had elements of pink within his suit and the theme ran throughout the day into the wedding breakfast and even the balloons in the evening.

The grounds at Knebworth Barns are stunning – when you have your wedding there they allow access to the gardens for your portraits which is a wonderful place to create those first photos as husband and wife!

Whilst we were off creating these, the room was transformed from ceremony room, into wedding breakfast and then into dancefloor all seamlessly whilst guests had the chance to mingle, catch up and have a drink or two.

The balcony within room gave great views for the first dance which Rob made full use of and we even got outside in the evening to create some more dramatic portraits which were so much fun!!

Before even booking in for their wedding, Amy and Chris came to meet me at the studio to talk all about what was important to them – Every wedding is different and although I have my own style, I always work with my couples to make sure we get the best from your day!

Having a fun and relaxed engagement session is also a great way to get to know eachother a little more and to bring that confidence of being in front of the camera right up and ready for the main event!

Planning & Budgeting

Amy and Chris had nailed their budget down tight before they started planning – every detail was carefully thought out and it showed in all the little touches and the theme throughout their day!

As far as budgeting goes – have a final figure in mind and then work methodically – Guest list (so you know how much room you will need) Venue first, Photographer and/or Videographer second – these are the businesses that get booked 12/18 months in advance – then dress (serious fun!) DJ, Bridesmaids dresses and suits and then you can look into venue decoration (if not included with your venue), invitations. Before you know it, it will be time for your engagement session!!

Venue & Decor

The team at Knebworth were incredible – to turn the room from ceremony, into wedding breakfast, into dance hall with very little fuss or people even knowing it was happening – someone was always on hand to help and this made a big impression on us as suppiers as well as keeping guests happy and not having to wait around.

Event & Guest Coordination

There was a Master of Ceremonies in charge all day at Knewborth – he was well cordinated, kept everything in check which allowed both couple and guests to be able to relax knowing they would be informed when something needed to happen.
